Privacy Policy

Short version: there is no account and no server of ours behind this app. The only thing that reaches us is anonymous crash diagnostics.

Who we are

The controller is Telldus Technologies AB, Magnus Ladulåsgatan 3, 118 65 Stockholm, Sweden, org. nr 556757-6896. Contact: support@floweasy.com

What stays on your phone

Everything you set up is stored on your phone and in the devices themselves:

  • The home name and picture you choose
  • The devices you have paired and the names you gave them
  • Scenes and timer settings
  • Your approximate position, if you use sunrise/sunset timers

None of this is sent to us. We operate no server for this app and have no way to see your devices, your scenes or your home. Deleting the app removes this data from your phone.

Sharing with another phone

If you use Share my lamps, the details needed to reach your devices pass directly between the two phones. We are not involved and receive nothing.

Crash reporting

To find and fix faults we use Firebase Crashlytics, a service provided by Google. When the app crashes it sends a report containing what went wrong and where in the code, your device model and operating system version, the app version, and a randomly generated installation identifier that lets us tell one crash from another.

A crash report does not contain your name, your email address, your position, or anything about your devices, scenes or home.

We rely on legitimate interest for this — an app whose faults we cannot diagnose is one we cannot keep working. Google acts as our processor and may handle the data outside the EU under the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses. If you would rather we did not receive crash reports from your phone, email us and we will explain your options.

Location

Two things may ask for location permission:

  • Astro timers. The app works out sunrise and sunset for your position. The calculation happens on the phone and the position is not transmitted.
  • Bluetooth scanning on Android. Older Android versions require location permission before an app may scan for Bluetooth devices. FlowEasy uses it only to find your lights.

You can refuse both. Refusing means astro timers will not be available; everything else works normally.

Firmware updates

When you use Update devices, the app downloads firmware files. This tells us that a download happened; it is not linked to you or to your devices.

Statistics from the app stores

Apple and Google give us aggregated, anonymised reports — how many times the app was downloaded, in which countries, on which device models, and how often it crashed. We cannot identify you from these and receive no individual usage data.

Apple and Google decide for themselves what to collect and how, so for these reports they are independent controllers rather than parties acting on our behalf. It happens under their own privacy policies and your device settings, not ours. You can change what your device shares in Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements on iOS, or Settings → Google → Usage & diagnostics on Android.

How long we keep things

  • Crash reports — about 90 days, after which Google deletes them automatically. We keep no separate copy.
  • Anything on your phone or in your devices — until you delete the app or reset the device. We cannot reach it and cannot delete it for you.
  • Emails you send us — kept while we deal with your question and for a reasonable period afterwards in case you write again.

No advertising, no profiling

FlowEasy contains no advertising and no advertising identifiers, does not track you across other apps or websites, and builds no profile of you. Nothing is sold or shared with anyone for their own purposes. Crash reporting, described above, is the only third-party component in the app.

Children

The app is not directed at children and collects no data from anyone, including children.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you may ask for a copy of your personal data, have it corrected or erased, restrict how we use it, receive it in a portable format, and object to processing based on legitimate interest — which includes the crash reporting described above.

Because the only data we receive is crash diagnostics not linked to your identity, we generally cannot tell which reports came from you. Write to us and we will help as far as we are able.

We make no automated decisions about you and we do not profile you.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data you can complain to your local data protection authority. In Sweden that is Integritetsskyddsmyndigheten (IMY), imy.se.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date at the foot of the page.
