Telldus continues to make great strides forward! Over the past year, we have greatly improved the stability of our platform, which means that we now have an uptime of 99.97 percent uptime. At the same time, preparations have been underway for the launch of our new hub 1 with support for Zigbee 3.0 . Hub 1 is launched and available for order now in June.
We are very proud and happy to announce that Currently One, a complete solution for controlling and monitoring your electricity consumption, became part of the Telldus family on June 2nd. With the acquisition, we give all Currently users a secure home in a broader ecosystem, while in the long term we will be able to offer the same functionality in the Telldus app. If you want to get an overview and control of your electricity consumption today, you can easily use the separate Currently One app.
Why does Currently One fit in at Telldus?
The energy meter provides direct insight into both electricity prices and consumption. It is easily connected (without the help of an electrician) to the electricity meter's HAN port with the included RJ12 cable and works on 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi. For those who already run Home Assistant, the device can also publish measurement values locally via MQTT. In short, we add a piece of the puzzle that makes it just as easy to keep track of kilowatts as it is to keep track of lighting and indoor climate.
How the integration is rolled out
During the summer of 2025, nothing dramatic will happen – the Currently app and the cloud will continue just as they are today. In September, we aim to offer the ability to export real-time data to Telldus Live! and set up elspot-triggered rules. As we approach the end of the year, all functionality will be woven into the Telldus app and the web so that light, climate and energy come together in the same clear view. Your login and all your history will follow automatically – no interruptions, no hassle.
What does this mean for Telldus users?
Once the integration is complete, energy metering will sit side by side with thermostats and switches. We are also giving the Telldus community a welcome offer right now: until June 30th, you can buy Currently One at a discounted price. Check your email for the discount code!
What does this mean for existing Currently users?
The service continues just as before – same app, same cloud, same login and all history remains. If you are a paying customer, you will also get to take advantage of Telldus Premium.
