Telldus annual summary

Telldus has gone through an intense and significant period.

When we took over the business, it quickly became clear that a lot of work lay ahead: increasing stability, improving availability, and addressing the technical debt that had built up over time. The work has been more complex and has taken longer than we initially thought – but the direction is clear and we are on the right track.

What we have done

During the period, our primary focus has been on securing and strengthening our server capacity and underlying infrastructure. Extensive work has been done to remove technical bottlenecks and reduce vulnerabilities in the systems, with the goal of creating a more stable and robust platform over time.

This work is a direct learning from previous outages, and the focus has been to ensure that we do not end up in a similar situation again. Stability and reliability have therefore been prioritized over new features, to lay a secure foundation for continued development.

The launch of hub 1 marked an important milestone, with support for Zigbee 3.0 , while continuing to ensure compatibility with 433MHz and Z-Wave .

We also have:

• We have started a close collaboration with Ledvance/Osram and friend – two partners with a clear focus on quality and well-developed products. Their commitment, technical expertise and high demands on functionality make them highly valued partners, and contribute to strengthening the Telldus ecosystem as a whole.
  
• Acquired Currently One , which strengthens our focus on energy measurement and future energy services. Here we will gradually expand functionality and what you can measure and control in the future.
  
• We participated in IFA Berlin , where we met both existing and new contacts. The presence provided the opportunity to establish and deepen relationships, exchange experiences and gather valuable insights about the market and future developments within IoT and Smart Home.
  
• We have been invited and are now members of Connectivity Standards Alliance (CSA) , which is an important strategic step for Telldus. Membership gives us the opportunity to closely follow and influence the development of Matter, build knowledge around the standard, and gradually prepare our platform for future support.
  

We are far from perfect, but the team is working purposefully to create a more modern, stable, and user-friendly Telldus experience.

Looking ahead

We are facing an important step in Telldu's continued development. The work ahead is about creating a more cohesive and future-proof whole where the platform, apps and services interact in a clearer and more consistent way. At the same time, we continue to invest in stability, user experience and technical foundation.

New Telldus app

We are developing a new, unified Telldus app that will eventually replace both Telldus Live! and the hub 1 app. The ambition is to bring together the best of both apps into a common experience, where functionality, user flows and stability build on what already works well.

The goal is to create a more cohesive experience where installation, everyday use and automation become easier, clearer and more intuitive. The app is built with a modern design and improved structure, with a focus on better overview, smoother navigation and fewer steps to reach what is important.

The new app will serve as the natural centerpiece for the entire Telldus ecosystem and create a stable foundation for further development of features and services.

Matter in Telldus

We are actively working to prepare Telldus for Matter. Through our membership in CSA, we are taking steps towards increased interoperability and better interaction between products, platforms and ecosystems.

We are aware that there are still areas to improve, and we are continuously working to make Telldus more stable, user-friendly and flexible. Our focus is to step by step improve the whole and create solutions that work better in everyday life.

We truly appreciate our users and the feedback we receive. It helps us prioritize correctly and continue to develop Telldus in a way that makes everyday life easier and more valuable for those who use our services.
