We have rebuilt the hub 1 app from the ground up

The hub 1 app has been rebuilt from the ground up. Not adjusted. Not patched. Rebuilt. And we are genuinely proud of what we have created.

Why we did this

Telldus has been around for a long time. And during that time, we have accumulated something that many tech companies recognize: an ecosystem that has grown organically, with solutions that were once smart but over time have created friction for you, our users.

Telldus Live! and the hub 1 app have lived separate lives. To control your home, you've had to jump between them depending on what you wanted to do. That has not been okay. And we've known it for a long time.

The goal with the new app is simple: to make everyday life a little easier and the experience of your smart home much better — for all our users.

This is new

The new app gathers everything in one place. One login. One overview. One app for your home.

Support for more devices

Whether your devices use Zigbee, 433 MHz, Z-Wave or Bluetooth — everything is now handled in the same app. You no longer need to worry about which app supports which technology.

Better overview and faster control

We have redesigned the interface from the ground up with a clear focus: you should quickly be able to see what's on, what's off, and take control without searching. The status of devices is clearly displayed directly from the home screen.

Rooms and structure

Organize your home into rooms and get a real overview of how everything connects. It's about creating a natural mental map of your home — not just a list of devices.

Automations in one place

Scenes, schedules, rule-based automations and geofencing are now gathered under a single flow. Easy to add, edit and delete — without having to search through different menus.

Notifications and history

Push notifications for important events, device history and live readings for sensors and energy — all available directly in the app.

The same backend you already trust

The new app uses exactly the same backend as Telldus Live!. This means that everything you have today — your devices, your automations, your scenes — works exactly as before, directly in the new app. Zero risk. No migration. Everything is already there.

How we are rolling this out

We are doing this incrementally and controlled — because we know you rely on Telldus every day.

Now — closed beta

A selected group of users are currently testing the app. Their feedback shapes the app in real time and is a prerequisite for us to move on to the next step.

Next step — public release

Once the beta is approved, the new app will replace the hub 1 app in the App Store and Google Play. Same listing, new app. hub 1 users will be automatically updated and presented with the new experience.

After that — voluntary migration for Live! users

Telldus Live! will continue to function as usual. We will encourage you to try the new app, but we won't force anyone. Migration will happen at your own pace.

It's worth knowing: all new development — new device types, new features, future integrations — will take place in the new app. Telldus Live! will be maintained but will not receive any new features. The new app is the platform on which we are building the future of Telldus.

What happens to Telldus Live!?

We want to be clear about what applies.

Telldus Live! on the web works exactly as usual — no change there.

The Telldus Live! app will also remain as usual throughout this transition. We will not replace it until both we and you are sufficiently satisfied with the new experience to make that change. It is you, the users, who will decide when we are there.
